The newly formed Woodside Residents Association (WRA) held its first Community Safety Event at Woodside Community Church last month.

On Saturday, September 15, local police, fire services and representatives from OWL, NHW, Mind, WCH, Age UK, The Prince’s Trust, Herts Trading Standards, Youth Connexions and Everyone Active provided advice to residents on safety and wellbeing issues.

The event was also attended by the Mayor Peter Taylor, local councillors and residents as well as the 9th North Watford Scouts who provided a barbecue, and Tonino’s ice cream van.

The WRA Committee hailed the event as a huge success. The chair of the committee, Elizabeth Hendley, said: “This event took a lot of organising and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. We are very grateful to all of those who came along to provide advice and support to our local residents.”

Mayor Peter Taylor said: “I was delighted to attend this very well organised event and I applaud the WRA for their efforts in arranging it.

“These types of event are invaluable to local residents and I was pleased to see a number of agencies in attendance supporting the WRA and providing assistance to the residents of Woodside.”
