Shenley Parish councillor Anthony Spencer sadly passed away on Saturday, March 4 with his family by his side.
Cllr Spencer had been a Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC) councillor for the Shenley ward for eight years, and a Shenley Parish councillor for 14 years.
He was also a member of the Planning Committee and former chair of the Policy Review Committee.
Anthony leaves behind his wife Vana, two children Naomi and Elliot, and grandchildren. He passed away “peacefully” after a period of ill health.
Sajida Bijle, HBC managing director, said: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of cllr Anthony Spencer. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends and we extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones at this difficult time.”
Cllr Morris Bright MBE said: “Cllr Spencer was a highly valued and cherished member of the council and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the residents of Shenley and the wider community. He was passionate about Shenley and protecting its people and environment. He will be greatly missed.”
