A popular classic car show attended by thousands each year in Croxley Green has been cancelled due to continuing rise of COVID-19 cases.
The ‘Classics On The Green Car Shows’ held in the village by the Watford & District Classic Vehicle Club (WDCVC) was due to take place this July but has been postponed till 2022.
WDCVC confirmed the cancellation of the events in a statement on their website stating that it was not in the public interest for the event to go ahead.
The statement read: “The Watford & District Classic Vehicle Club (WDCVC) have regrettably decided it is not in the interest of the public nor organises to attempt to put on our two Croxley Green shows this year.
“The Government expect daily COVID infection rates to continue to rise exponentially after the removal of SD restrictions, regardless of the success of the vaccination programme.
“Our events can attract over 1100 vehicles and thousands of visitors, so for the safety of all concerned, postponing until 2022 is, in our opinion, the correct decision.”
The statement from WDCVC continued to encourage the community to support the local and national charities which are supported through the event.
