A 23-year-old man was hit fatally by an oncoming train at Bushey Train Station, which led to numerous emergency services, including an air ambulance, rush to the scene.
A statement from the British Transport Police read: “British Transport Police were called at 4.37pm on March 17 to Bushey and Oxhey station following a report of a casualty on the tracks. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
London Overground reported a casualty at the station and stopped all services between Harrow and Wealdstone and Watford Junction due to a “customer incident” at Bushey.
A video taken from someone at the scene showed numerous police cars, ambulances and hazardous response units at the station, whilst a helicopter also landed at Oxhey Park.
After severe delays between London Euston and Milton Keynes, London Euston said at 7pm that evening that services were re-operating between those two stations, but trains would not call at Bushey.
⚠️ please check @nationalrailenq if you are travelling to or from #Euston this morning
Some disruption to timetabled services is likely due to last night’s incident at #Bushey, which has left some @AvantiWestCoast & @LNRailway trains in the wrong places ahead of start-up today
