His Royal Highness Prince Edward visited an auction house in Chenies, Rickmansworth, as part of a wider visit to the Hertfordshire area.
The Earl of Wessex visited leading entertainment memorabilia auction house Propstore on March 9, touring the facility and getting the opportunity to view and interact with many iconic film props and costumes.
The tour also included a meeting with staff members across the business.
The Earl of Wessex had the opportunity to get up close to various props and costumes from Propstore’s collection, including Jack Nicholson’s famous Joker costume from Batman (1989) and Westley’s The Man in Black sword from the 1980s classic, The Princess Bride. His Royal Highness was joined on the visit by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ.
Propstore founder and CEO Stephen Lane said: “I felt very honoured and proud to have welcomed The Earl of Wessex and His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire to Propstore. Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE commented: “I have visited Propstore on a number of occasions over the years, including presenting them with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and have always enjoyed meeting Stephen Lane and his team and learning about how the business operates. Propstore is a successful business in Hertfordshire and I had the pleasure of accompanying HRH The Earl of Wessex during his tour, which involved looking at some fascinating iconic film props and costumes.”
