A man driving a van that collided with an ambulance on the Magic Roundabout in Hemel Hempstead earlier in the month was de-arrested hours after the incident, Herts Police has confirmed.
Police were called to the section of the roundabout in front of the Cotterells flats at 8.10am on January 2, where an ambulance and a white Citroen van had collided.
Three people sustained minor injuries.
While Hertfordshire Police initially arrested the driver of the Citroen van, they have since confirmed that he was de-arrested just hours after the incident, while he was being treated in hospital.
The East of England Ambulance Service said: “We can confirm that one of our ambulances was involved in a collision this morning (January 2) shortly before 8.00am in Hemel Hempstead.
“There were no patients in the ambulance at the time.
“Neither of the crew members were seriously injured.”
