A martial arts club in Tring recently welcomed an internationally renowned comedian.
Just before Christmas, Tring Martial Arts Academy (TMAA) received a phone call from a location scout for an upcoming BBC series.
After a site visit by the art department and the location manager, it was revealed that TMAA had been chosen as a filming location for series two of smash hit comedy-drama series, Avoidance, starring Romesh Ranganathan.
Avoidance follows hapless anti-hero Jonathan, who is struggling to get back on his feet after breaking up with partner Claire.
Speaking to TRINGnews, chief instructor and owner of TMAA Shihan Christopher Allen said: “The production company chose us because of our extremely ‘authentic’ martial arts dojo.
“This is not the first time that TMAA has been involved with the TV and movie industry. We have had a number of stunt performers training with us for their inclusion on the stunt register and our facilities have been hired by production companies and studios as a base to train action stars ahead of filming in various locations in the area.”
