ROCK ON!: Chipperfield music festival returns even bigger and better than before

Hundreds of residents from Kings Langley and beyond kicked off this year’s festival season at an event that championed local performers and businesses.

ChippStock Festival took place at Blackwells on Chipperfield Common on Sunday, May 25.

The event was sponsored by Gaffer Hemel and gave talented local artists the chance to shine in the spotlight.

Now in its third year, the festival was created by music promoter Luke Hinton and his wife Rachael.

The team from KINGSnews headed down to the party to catch up with the pair.

Rachael said: “We wanted to do something in our local village that could help up-and-coming bands and just give people a proper festival to go to.

“We also wanted to help raise money for the Friends of St Paul’s School and Chipperfield Pre-School and for all our profits to go back to the community.”

First up on stage was The Skive, a three-piece punk/garage group and winners of the Hertford Corn Exchange Battle of the Bands.

They were followed by the UK’s most popular tribute to The Jam, The Jam’d, and successful teen band The Molotovs.

Other artists included Jarki Monno, No Rest for the Spacemen, and Setla.

Starring on the acoustic stage was alternative musician Evan Williams. Darcy Louch, Harvey Anselm Taylor, Laura Dannan, and Tinlin also took to the stage for some wonderful acoustic melodies.

Changing the vibe into the evening was DJ Purdy to take the celebration into the night.

Speaking to KINGSnews during the run-up to the event, Luke said: “We can’t do what we do without the artists and audiences, and with the music experience I have, I thought we should bring something to the local community.”

Those who may have missed the incredible evening need not worry as next year’s festival is already set to be even more spectacular.

Rachael said: “I believe we can make it bigger and bigger each year. We want people to keep having a good time and discover something new.”

ChippStock Festival will return on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Find out more at www.shorturl.at/58ixi
