Ian Allinson’s men returned to Vanarama National League South action with a crucial trip to bottom side Tonbridge Angels on Saturday.
But it was the Saints who swapped places with their hosts after Ian Allinson’s men went down 2-1 in Kent.
After early pressure from the home side, Saints burst into life after 26 mins when Albert Adu found Scott Shulton only for the midfielder’s effort to be spectacularly palmed away by the home keeper.
Three minutes later though it was the home side who went in front when Greenhalgh stepped up and sent the free kick over the wall into the top corner of the net giving Dean Snedker no chance.

Into the second half and the hosts doubled their lead with less than 15 minutes to go when Da Costa slotted the ball home after a counter attack.
Tonbridge 2-0 St Albans
As the hosts looked to press home their advantage though, Zane Banton gave the visitors hope in the 89th minute when he turned in the box and fired the ball high in the roof of the net.

Despite the late goal though, Tonbridge held on to all three points and sent St Albans bottom of the table.
