Watford Borough Council has launched a new podcast series dedicated to the River Colne.
Tales of the River explores the history and environmental significance of the iconic waterway, with each episode exploring a different aspect of the river.
Tales of the River is produced alongside West Herts College and features a variety of experts and guests who will join Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor in discussions about the local environment.
Various soundbites provide listeners with an immersive experience of the river and share some of the efforts being made to preserve and enhance the river’s ecosystem.
The new podcast has been created following a grant of £250,000 from National Lottery players and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Mayor Taylor said: “This project is not just about celebrating our local heritage, but also about raising awareness of the environmental challenges the river is facing. We hope to inspire the community to get involved with the River Colne.”
The podcast is available on Spotify.
