Rickmansworth Hockey Club move bases to Royal Masonic School

Published on: 31st July 2017   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

Rickmansworth Hockey Club have ‘upped sticks’ and moved from playing their home games at St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood to The Royal Masonic School for Girls in Rickmansworth for the start of the new 2017/18 season. This comes ahead of their recent push for funding to build a new Hockey Astro on the playing fields next to their clubhouse, shared with the cricket club next to Scotsbridge Mill playing fields, just outside of the town centre which should be completed towards the end of this season. Men’s 1st team captain Tim McGlashan stated: “This sets us up well for the new season and the move gives all 6 of our adult teams as well as our Colts a decent amount of time to practise on the pitch prior to the season starting on September 23. “The pitch is very similar to the new one that we are building so the practise time will be invaluable. Everyone in the club has done a fantastic job in raising enough money for the astro to be built and we are all excited for what the future brings for Rickmansworth Hockey Club.” The club, which is known for its friendly family feel, is currently on a large recruitment drive for players for the upcoming season and is holding an open day at the start of September The Royal Masonic School for Girls. The open day will be a great opportunity for players of all ages and abilities to try their hand at hockey and join a sociable club with a thriving colts section and large adults section. More details on the open day and the club itself can be found on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Rickmansworthhockeyclub/ or for more information please email info@rickhockey.co.uk.
