Bushey Museum and Art Gallery have been donated 26 pieces of Bushey Heath Pottery by Leighton House Museum in Kensington.
The donated pieces by Leighton House Museum were previously loaned to the museum and art gallery for a joint exhibition two years ago.
Leighton House is shortly to begin a major renovation and part redevelopment project, causing them to rethink the future of their collection, which they acquired as a result of their original close collaboration with the founder of Bushey Heath Pottery, Ida Perrin.
A spokesperson for Bushey Museum and Art Gallery said: “We were very pleased to learn that a few items have been accepted by the Victoria and Albert Museum and some others by the William De Morgan Society.
“We hope that will help to promote Bushey Museum and that it was mutually agreed that the majority of pieces should come to Bushey.
“Most items are now on display in the main local history room and we hope to acquire another case so as to effect a combined display from Bushey Museum’s whole collection.”
Bushey Museum is off Bushey High Street and is open Thursdays to Sundays 11am to 4pm, admission is free.
