A new electric vehicle charging station has opened at the Abbey View Retail Park in the Cottonmill neighbourhood of St Albans.
Operated by charging company Fastned, the station opened on July 4 and has six charging bays, all supplied by fully renewable energy and capable of adding up to 300 miles of range to fully electric cars in 20 minutes.
Daisy Cooper, MP for St Albans, said: “I know that local residents have been chomping at the bit for more electric vehicle infrastructure in our area.
“I welcome Fastned’s investment in an ultra-rapid charging station so that St Albans residents and visitors alike can have the confidence to make the switch to an electric car.”
