Residents will not need to travel far to enjoy the creative work of young writers, as poems by Garston pupils are now on display at St Albans Cathedral.
Year 4 students from Kingsway Junior School in Garston teamed up with pupils from Mandeville Primary School in St Albans.
They brilliantly wrote haikus as part of the Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership’s (CRP) latest educational project.
The poems capture the everyday wonder of travel through the eyes of eight and nine-year-olds.
This inspiring project was led by Kate Swindells, Abbey Line CRP officer, in collaboration with writer Karene Horner-Hughes and Chris Blanch and Grae Wall from the St Albans Arts Team.
To celebrate both ends of the cherished Abbey Line, some exceptional poems were featured at Watford Junction train station.
Now, the Garston pupils’ remarkable work can be admired at St Albans Cathedral.
Speaking to GARSTONnews, Oscar, nine, said: “It’s exciting to see it at the station. I enjoyed writing the poem very much.”
The initiative offered children a chance to express themselves, showcasing community creativity.
