Police have released a CCTV image of someone they want to identify following a theft and a racially aggravated public order offence in London Colney.

The incident occurred at the Sainsbury’s petrol station in Colney Fields Shopping Park on Monday, January 29.

It was reported that a customer had filled a car up with fuel and then left without making any attempt to pay, before shouting racial slurs to staff and customers.

PC Ashley Billington, who is investigating, said: “We are releasing this image because we believe that the person pictured may have been in the area at the time and could have information to assist our investigation.

“Is this you, or do you recognise this person? Please email me at ashley.billington@herts.police.uk with any information.”

You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/9188/24.

Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org
