A local man who has been in Australia for the last 23 years has come back to his home town and wants to continue what he was famed for down under. Andy Wolstenholme, born and bred in Watford, went to Sydney in 1991 and organised quizzes in some of the city’s biggest and most well-known venues. Andy told My Abbots News that he started the quizzes by chance and within months they became extremely popular throughout Sydney. He said: “I was in an Indian restaurant in Sydney and decided to start a quiz in there and within moments the place was absolutely packed. “It was such a success that I decided to continue the quizzes. I then did quizzes in some of the city’s most popular bars such as Scruffy Murphy’s and the Cock and Bull, which are well known amongst backpackers. “I then branched out to the St George’s part of the city and it really took off.” Now he is back in the UK and Andy wants to continue the good work he did in Australia and wants his quizzes to take off in Watford and locally. “I really want to run quizzes over here now. They really are fantastic events,” explained Andy. “Music is provided all night and adds to the atmosphere and people can have a really good time. “The quizzes are six rounds of 10 questions and prizes are provided by the venue. I try and keep it in house and have been doing these for 20 years professionally so I have plenty of experience. “The event spreads goodwill and happiness and they really are memorable evenings.” To contact Andy please email him on pommyandy@live.com.au or call him on 07404 283945.
