A grateful Pinner woman and her family have expressed their gratitude after Harrow Council swiftly found her keys that she’d dropped down a rainwater drain.
Kat Carswell, who’s in her 30’s, dropped her bunch of keys, including both her house keys and her only car key, down a drain in Pinner after parking her car on Wednesday, September 18.
Kat rang Harrow Council the following morning; her dad, Les, admitted they “weren’t sure what response we would get.”
He added: “The bunch of keys had her car key, house keys and work keys so, obviously, there was a lot of panic in our household.
“The next morning, around 10am, she phoned Harrow Council to report this – the council person said they would go to the drain, open it and look for the keys ‘within two hours.’
“Mid-afternoon, Kat was phoned and told they had retrieved her keys and she could collect them whenever she could. She went to the Refuse Collection site in Harrow in the afternoon and got her keys back.
“She did ask if there would be a charge and was told ‘no charge’. We are obviously really pleased to get such a positive and speedy response. We are amazed and very appreciative of Harrow Council’s response to this – a piece of good news at last.”
