Members of Porters Park Golf Course in Radlett raised £6,244 for Prostate Cancer UK at the Men’s Christmas Fayre on Friday, December 1.
Golfers started off the day with a hearty breakfast before a friendly tournament and lunch. The 112 attendees of the fayre then took part in a raffle, charity auction and games in order to raise vital funds for the charity.
Amongst the auctioned goods were a limited edition Marvel football signed by Arsenal players and a football boot signed by Frank Lampard OBE. Lucky winners also took home vouchers for neighbouring golf courses including Sheringham and South Herts Golf Clubs.
Operations manager Rob Watson said: “I’m really proud of the golf course for supporting what is an incredibly important charity.
“A lot of the members of the club are men of that age when prostate cancer becomes more prevalent, so we really wanted to raise awareness as well as vital funds.”
