Hertfordshire Police have issued an update on the body that was unexpectedly found next to the M1 motorway on Monday, January 13.
Police officers were called to the scene on the M1 on Monday, January 13, after reports a body had been discovered. Two lanes of the northbound carriageway were temporarily closed.
A constabulary spokesperson said: “We are now able to issue an update following the sad discovery of a body next to the M1 earlier this month.
“On the afternoon of Monday 13 January, officers were called after a body was found in undergrowth between junctions 5 and 6 of the M1, near Watford.
“Following an investigation, the man, aged in his 60s, has now been identified.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“The man’s death is currently being treated as non-suspicious but unexplained and further work is being conducted to establish the cause of death.”
