Police tackling vehicles blocking pavements

Published on: 14th January 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Bushey Police has been clamping down on the recent spike of drivers leaving their vehicles obstructing pavements.

For the last two months the police twitter account has been posting pictures of each car the find illegally parked.

Pictures include a car parked on zig-zags outside Little Reddings Primary School, a car blocking the pavement next to a lamppost and one car completely blocking the pavement.

All these divers received fines for illegally/inconsiderately blocking pavements.

In the latest fine, a BMW was given a fine for blocking the pavement.

Bushey Police tweeted: “Parking on the pavement puts pedestrians in danger by forcing them onto the road, especially those with wheelchairs or pushchairs. Officers have been out issuing fines in #Bushey this evening following recent complaints to help tackle this problem.”

MyBusheyNews has submitted a Freedom of Information request to Hertfordshire Constabulary to see how many fines were issued in December.
