A man is being investigated by police over offensive tweets about Watford fan Nic Cruwys.
The malicious messages were sent ahead of the win at Molineux on Saturday, October 20. The Hornets fan was brutally beaten after a game in March 2015 by six Wolves supporters.
He spent a number of weeks in a coma and four men were later jailed and two others received suspended sentences.
Hertfordshire police contacted detectives at West Midlands after spotting the malicious messages.
In a tweet the force said: “Following today’s fixture, it has been brought to our attention of a number of totally unacceptable and offensive tweets directed towards a particular Watford fan. West Mids Police are fully aware and are actively taking action towards those responsible.”
The comments are now being investigated by police as malicious communication offences.
