A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving on Sunday, November 13, and was subsequently de-arrested.
The driver crashed into a bollard and road sign on London Road West, Amersham, and attempted to leave the scene before officers arrived.
The vehicle and driver were quickly located, with assistance from an off-duty police community support officer.
The woman was taken to hospital as a precaution, where she failed to provide a blood specimen.
She also failed to provide a breath test at the roadside when asked by officers.
The incident is currently under investigation.
In 2020, around 6,480 people were killed or injured in the UK from drink-drive incidents, according to a government report. This is 19 per cent lower than the previous year.
