POLICE APPEAL: Woman in her 70s hospitalised after serious collision in Watford

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious collision in Watford.

The incident, involving a pedestrian and a black BMW 318, occurred at around 11.35am on Monday, June 23, on Beechen Grove.

Police attended the scene along with colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She currently remains in hospital.

The driver, a woman aged in her 40s, remained at the scene and is assisting with the investigation.

PC Boris Kahn, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “The collision occurred at a time when this junction was likely very busy. As part of our investigation, I am appealing to anyone who either witnessed the collision or was driving in the area at the time of the incident to please contact me.

“We are also keen to hear from a woman who reportedly stopped at the scene to offer help to the victim. If this was you, please get in touch.”
