POLICE APPEAL: Did you see burglary in Rickmansworth?

Published on: 21st February 2022   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Rickmansworth Neighbourhood Watch (RNW) are asking for witnesses to a burglary in Nightingale Road where multiple valuables were taken.

Sometime between February 12 and 16, whilst the homeowner was away, a house at the top end of the road near to The Drive was broken into from a side door. A set of bi-focal doors at the rear of the house were damaged in what was apparently a failed attempt to gain access.

Items taken included a large screen 55 inch television, a Nintendo Switch games console and several items of jewellery. Due to the size of the TV, it is believed by police that the offender or offenders would have parked a vehicle nearby to load the items in.

If you saw anyone loading a television into a van or car during this time, or think you have any further information that could help with the investigation of this crime, call the police on their non-emergency contact number 101 quoting crime reference 41/13274/22.

Alternatively crimes can also be reported online at www.herts.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention or anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

The RNW are also reminding residents of actions they can do themselves to lower the risk of burglary, such as leaving lights on when it gets dark and the house is empty and bolting gates at the side of the house to prevent easy access.
