Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a serious collision in Hemel Hempstead.

At around 5.45pm yesterday (Sunday, February 5), a bicycle and a Volkswagen Golf were involved in a collision in Lawn Lane.

Officers attended, alongside the ambulance service. A temporary road closure was put in place to allow emergency services access.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the Golf remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Sergeant David McIlwhan, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to please get in touch.

“I am especially keen to hear from anyone who might have caught the collision, or the events leading up to it, on dash cam. If you were driving through the area at the time and have a dash cam fitted to your vehicle, please check it and get in contact if you spot something that might help us.”
