POLICE APPEAL: Appeal to trace victim of robbery in Watford

Detectives investigating a robbery in Watford are appealing for the victim to get in contact with them.

Police were made aware of a video that had been circulating on social media, showing a man being attacked by a number of youths in Cassiobury Park. From the footage, it appears that they may have stolen his phone.

The incident is believed to have taken place on Friday 12 August.

Detective Sergeant Helen Dickson, who is leading the investigation, said: “From the footage, we believe that the victim is a white man aged roughly in his 50s or 60s. The video shows him being punched and kicked repeatedly, and we believe he may have sustained significant injuries during the attack.

“I am aware that some time has passed since this incident took place, but we have been conducting extensive enquiries in our efforts to identify the victim to ensure that he is ok and in order to progress our investigation.
