Pharmacist commended for helping community

Published on: 17th May 2019   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

A thoughtful Radlett Pharmacist has been applauded for going above and beyond to help her patients.

Sara Bloom, who works at Manor Pharmacy on Radlett high street, gives each patient she meets personal care and attention.

One of those patients, Corinne Miller, told RadlettNews: “There’s so much negativity going around these days, and not enough recognition of positive things.

“Sara is the best pharmacist, and one of the most educated people I’ve ever come across.

“I’ve been going to Manor Pharmacy for years and I’ve watched her speak to customers – she greets each of them personally, asks them how they’re doing and how they’re finding their medication, and you can tell she really cares.”

While Sara puts patient naming down to her good memory, her caring qualities are clear to see in other instances.

Corinne added: “If I have any questions regarding medication or I’m looking for an opinion on something, she’ll always have time for me. And I don’t get special treatment – quite the opposite really, because she’ll do that for anyone.

“She has also personally delivered prescriptions to someone’s house if they haven’t been available when the patient visited. And more commonly, if the prescription the patient needs isn’t there when they visit, she’ll be sure to call up the doctors and chase it, and figure out a plan that works for the patient if it isn’t available yet.”

Sara, who has been a Radlett pharmacist for over four years, said: “it’s a real team effort in the pharmacy. We all pride ourselves on getting to know the patients and they clearly appreciate that.

“It’s so amazing to get this kind of feedback and I’m so touched – it’s why I do this job. But it’s not just a job to me, because I really care about our patients and that’s why I help them out where I can.

“I’m so deeply touched by the positive responses we get, as it can be a stressful job, but they make it all worth it.”
