An Amersham pig farm which was overwhelmed by the birth of five piglets in one month has given one of the little guys a Christmas-themed name.
Percy, one of a little of five piglets who was born back in October at Kew Little Pigs, has been named after the iconic M&S treats and festive advert.
The piglets were a bit of a surprise for staff at the centre, and mum Daisy gave birth to her brood after Blanket the promiscuous boar, who was on the cover of AMERSHAMnews’ November edition, jumped over a fence and impregnated her.
But the farm say there is plenty of room for the happy additions, until they are ready to go to loving homes as pets.
Kew Little Pigs owner Olivia Mikhail said: “We are getting ready for Christmas at Kew Little Pigs and thought, what better name for a piglet than Percy, after the iconic M&S treats and hilarious festive advert.
“In the past we have had a Wilbur, like Charlotte’s Web, and of course Blanket, so we aren’t strangers to giving our piglets names which reference popular culture as a bit of a giggle.
“But we think it suits him. He is happy and funny, just like the real Percy pig!”
Kew Little Pigs is currently running special festive Santa’s Little Helper Days, which include some extra special Christmassy photo opportunities.
