Published on: 4th June 2023   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

A well-known book covering the history of Gerrards Cross is to be republished at the end of this month.

Gerrards Cross: A History was originally written by authors Julian Hunt and David Thorpe in 2006 and draws from sources such as Gerrards Cross Parish Council and Buckinghamshire Council.

Now, thanks to dedicated history book publishers, The History Press, it is to be reprinted and released in ebook format, making it accessible to residents who want to research the town’s storied history once more.

The History Press states: “Gerrards Cross: A History celebrates the energy and imagination of the pioneer architects, builders and estate agents who ensured that Gerrards Cross became a high-class residential area, both socially and architecturally.

The book covers all eras of the town, from when a hill fort stood on the site around the time of the Domesday Book, all the way to the 21st century.

The reprint of the book comes out on Thursday, June 29. It can bought in either hardback or paperback by going to The History Press website.
