Former Spice girl had a new tattoo penned at a Rickmansworth studio and was described as the “ideal customer” by the artist. Mel Chisholm (Mel C) recently visited the multi-award-winning, Renaissance Tattoo studio on Station Road to get a delicate tattoo added to the boyish Celtic band she has from the early Spice Girl years. Amanda Sissons, owner and tattooist at Renaissance Tattoo studio, said: “Mel C was a pleasure to tattoo, she was the ideal customer really; she didn’t flinch, she knew what she wanted, she was easy going and we were just chatting away. “She gave me some freedom with the tattoo, she knew she wanted a feather but I got to do the main design. As an artist with more freedom I get my best work done.” She spent two and a half hours tattooing the former Sporty Spice, ensuring the delicate details of the feather were perfectly entwined in her previous tattoo. She continued: “Its nerve racking tattooing someone who’s always in the public eye, you want to make sure it’s perfect, you don’t want any criticism so I was quite conscious doing the tattoo.” Amanda told My Ricky News that Mel C requested her especially to do the tattoo after being recommended by X Factor winner Matt Cardle. “Matt Cardle is a regular customer, I’ve done some work on him previously and he’s currently working with Mel C and recommended me to her. It’s a great feeling knowing someone has recommended you. “Mel C seemed extremely happy with her tattoo, she was lovely and mentioned that she would love to come back and get more so I’m hoping to see her in the future.” To find out more about Renaissance Tattoo visit www.renaissance-tattoo.co.uk.
