Staff at Chorleywood Beaumont care home, and other homes run by Barchester Healthcare, have completed a tough 211-mile cycling challenge to raise money for their charitable foundation.
Riding their bikes on a 16-stop tour of the company’s various care homes and a hospital, nicknamed the ‘Tour de Barchester’, the team made their way down from Bradford to the finish line in London. The ride took place from July 5 to July 8.
On the final day, the tour stopped off at the Chorleywood Beaumont home, where a fantastic BBQ was hosted, and further funds were raised. Residents and their families came together to cheer on the cyclists as they carried on their trek.
Ramona Stanciu, the general manager at Chorleywood Beaumont, who took part in the cycle challenge, said: “I am so very proud to have taken part in this challenge with my Barchester colleagues, it is no mean feat to cycle so far.
“Everyone has certainly shown their mettle. It was wonderful to see many supporting the cyclists as we passed through, all of our residents and staff enjoyed being our support crew for this leg of the tour and cheering us on our way.”
