Police in Abbots Langley and Bedmond have sent a warning to parents who have been illegally parking when on the school run.
A message sent via the Herts Connected information service stated that officers will be conducting regular patrols in the vicinity of four local schools during drop-off and pick-up times.
This comes following similar patrols at the end of the last school year, where officers reported a variety of unsafe practices, including parking on yellow lines and blocking driveways or pedestrian crossings.
The four schools where patrols will take place are Bedmond Academy, Tanners Wood JMI, Divine Saviour, and St Paul’s. Police have also stated that fixed penalty notices will be issued if appropriate.
A spokesperson for Herts Police said: “We understand that school runs can be busy and challenging, but the safety of children must always come first.
“By working together, we can ensure that our school environments remain safe for all children and respectful of the surrounding community.”
