A Leavesden nursery celebrated its 20th anniversary in style last month with a family fun day. Dozens of children donned their favourite costumes on August 16 to toast the landmark for Tots Nursery, which was originally set up in the grounds of Leavesden Green School in 1993 and is run by Linda and Colin Stanbrook. Entertainment on the day included a ball pool, bouncy castle, face painting, lucky dip and hook a duck. Children’s entertainer Boogie Buddies was joined by special guests Peppa Pig and George, who joined in with a teddy bears picnic. The nursery also held a home-made cake sale and ‘guess the teddy’s name’ competition to raise money for three-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer Jake Skinner, who needs a life-changing operation to help him walk. In all everyone managed to raise £75 for Jake’s Dream Fund, which is attempting to reach a £50,000 fundraising total.
