Northwood School is celebrating the outcome of a recent two day Ofsted inspection which judged the school to be ‘Outstanding’.
Their glowing report not only praised the school’s high quality teaching as a “significant strength of the school” it also praised “the exceptional progress students make in all year groups.”
The inspectors also highlighted that, “pupils’ behaviour and attitudes to learning are exemplary,” as well as the fact that pupils “are rightly proud of their school and are unfailingly polite and welcoming to visitors.”
Ofsted were also impressed by parents’ comments, one said: “Well done Northwood for the great teaching and for making my children feel safe and happy!”
Mark Anderson, Headteacher, expressed his delight at the outcome of the inspection. He said: “The outcome of this inspection is the result of a huge team effort from everybody at Northwood School over the last few years to further enhance the strong provision we have always had. I want to thank everyone at the school who has played a part. I am immensely proud that the day to day work of all our students and staff has been recognised by such high praise from Ofsted. I also want to thank our parents and the local community for their ongoing support and championing of Northwood School.”
Chair of Governors, Mrs. Joan Greening, who has been a governor at the school for twelve years, added: “To be judged as an outstanding school is an absolutely fantastic achievement. This is due to the hard work of the staff, students and governors who are all truly ‘outstanding’.”
