Independent bookshop Brooks on Bridge Street in Pinner has been nominated in The Bookseller’s ‘British Book Awards 2020.’
The category of ‘Independent Bookshop of the Year’ in the London region is where Brooks have been placed, alongside seven others.
The award, which is sponsored by Gardners, will see a prize of £5,000 going to the winning bookshop for them to market their business.

The ceremony will take place on May 18 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
On The Bookseller’s website, a statement read: “First launched in 1990 and now run by The Bookseller, the British Book Awards and its sister awards schemes – The British Book Award for Export and Library of the Year – seek to showcase and celebrate the best books, the best bookshops and the best publishers.
“We want to find the best independent bookshops from rural Wales to inner-city London. We celebrate the small presses that are such a vital part of the publishing ecosystem. We champion the best illustrators.”
