NO COMMUNICATION: Chalfonts residents angry after service changes

Published on: 3rd September 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Chalfont St Peter residents say Carousel Buses have been dismal in promoting changes to the new 104 bus service.

They said there has been zero publicity so far which meant zero joining passengers.

The new service began on Tuesday September 1.

Phil Southall, managing director of Carousel Buses said they were not able to promote the service as early as they wanted to.

He said: “Unfortunately, we weren’t able to promote the new service as early as we would have liked to, as while the changes to the 104 service are very positive for the Chalfonts, in making these changes we withdrew the section of our Chiltern Hundreds network between Gerrards Cross and Slough.

“The Buckinghamshire Council has procured a replacement service for this area; however, the details of this replacement service were not confirmed until August 20.

“It’s important to note that the council has been very busy with ensuring all necessary arrangements have been in place to support the return to schools and colleges, and would suggest that a degree of understanding is needed at this current challenging time.

“Nonetheless, we have been very pleased with the patronage of the revised 104 on the first two days of operation and we hope that, over time the residents of the Chalfonts will make good use of this much improved bus service.”

The hourly service between the Chalfonts and High Wycombe service runs from Mondays to Saturdays and it combines with the existing 105 service.

Full details of the new service, and all other services can be found at carouselbuses.co.uk
