St Albans City slipped into 20th in the league table this afternoon (November 2) as they lost 1-3 at home to Havant and Waterlooville FC.
It was a tough opening 45 minutes for the Saints who nearly went one nil down after two minutes, but a smart save from Snedker kept it out.
Saints soaked up a lot of pressure in the first 15 minutes of the game as they struggled to get out of their half.
St Albans buckled not long after the 15-minute mark as Jonah Ayunga slotted home from just a few yards out after a goalmouth scramble. 0-1.
Saints fans would have been delighted as their first clear chance seemed to have led to a goal from Kaloczi but the linesman ruled it out for offside.
Two great saves from Snedker prevented it from going 0-2 just before the half time whistle, but a loose tackle in the box saw the referee award a penalty to HWFC which was converted by Kedwell. 0-2.
Ian Allinson’s men made a good start to the second half which paid off on the 58th minute as Sprague powered down the left and his cross found Shulton who tapped home. 1-2.
A great save by Worner kept his side in the lead and five minutes later Havant grabbed a third.
With the game over after the third goal, St Albans struggled to make any clear-cut chances and the game simmered out.
St Albans next play at home against Bishops Stortford FC on November 5.
