My Vision for the Future

When I started the My News business ten years ago I was just concentrating on getting the magazine out each month. Back then there was only, My Abotts.

There was never any masterplan to grow the business. I just saw an opportunity for something which I felt would work in pretty much any area it went.  And went for it.

We’ve grown quickly and currently print 15 titles, covering more than 100,000 homes and have hundreds of clients across three counties.

So with a successful decade of experience under my belt and a settled and highly skilled team in place I thought ‘what next?’

I knew I wanted the magazines to grow in terms of the areas they cover but also one of the biggest kicks I get is helping people with their businesses.

I’m approached on a daily basis for advice on sales, marketing and running a business and it’s something I really enjoy and find rewarding.

This gave me the idea. Could I set up a franchise opportunity for others which would use the knowledge my team and I have built up AND help people succeed running their own businesses?

About a month I posted a blog which mentioned a top secret project a team at My News was working on.

Well now we are in a position to unveil what we’re up to and why I believe it’ll be a rip roaring success.

I’ve often been asked to franchise the My News method. I’ve lost count of the number of times people have approached me about this idea.

To produce successful monthly magazines takes two very different skills. On one hand you need to be able to source, edit and write interesting stories. On the other hand you need sales skills to gain the all important advertising.

Not many people have both so we have come up with what we believe is the perfect solution.

VISION is a monthly magazine where we produce the content from our HQ and team of expert writers. It’s a quality lifestyle magazine which appeals to both men and women.

The franchises will be sold on postcode exclusivity. So when someone buys a VISION franchise for WD6 for example we will not sell the rights to publish there.

We’ll provide content, mentoring from me and my team, design, sales ideas and pretty much everything we’ve learned over the years that has made us successful.

Plus there are super guarantees which means there’s no risk in buying a franchise. If it doesn’t work out for a person we’ll buy it back.

I see this as a great opportunity for us as a company and enterprising people out there keen to live their lives in a more fulfilling way.

Our pilot edition of VISION hits the printing press soon and we’ve already sold two franchises to people who can see the enormous potential in our offer.

We launch officially at the Franchise Show in London’s Excel Arena on February 20 & 21 next year.
