Nicole Dennis smashes audition at The Voice UK

Nicole Dennis, 24, from Stanmore, blew viewers away with her rendition of ‘Never Enough’ on The Voice UK which turned three out of the four judges and saw her straight into the next round.

Following her first performance, Nicole then found herself singing alongside her idol and now team captain, Jennifer Hudson. 

Their cover of ‘And I’m Telling You’ which was sung by Jennifer Hudson in the 2006 film Dreamgirls, had the audience up on their feet which saw her secure a place on Jennifer’s team. 

The 24-year-old who performs in the West End show, Dreamgirls revealed on the show that she is performing as the understudy Effie White, the character which landed Jennifer an Oscar.

Nicole, who revealed on the show that to follow her dream she left education, has been congratulated by the school that she used to attend from 2005 to 2010.

Released on their website, Park High school in Stanmore, said: “We at Park High school are incredibly proud of Nicole and her wonderful performance on The Voice.

“This, in addition to her duet with Jennifer Hudson, has The Voice fans predicting that she will be this year’s winner. We wish you the very best of luck Nicole and we will be supporting you all the way.”

One Twitter user revealed on Twitter that Nicole’s performance has won her the series already.

The tweet said: “OK that was a great series of #TheVoiceUK and the winner is…. Nicole Dennis. This must be the first time the shows been won on the opening night”.
