Teams battled it out on the football pitch in aid of the Mayor’s charities last week (Friday, April 26), raising more than £800 for the Alzheimer’s Society and CLIC Sargent.
The Mayor’s Charity Football Tournament was held at Arsenal’s Training Ground in London Colney. Eight teams took part and each team donated an entry fee to take part in the tournament and a shirt and football signed by the Arsenal players was raffled after the matches.
Mayor of Hertsmere, cllr Brenda Batten, said: “It was a great evening and all the players and spectators seemed to enjoy themselves too. Congratulations go to the winning team and thank you to all who donated to my two chosen charities.”
