Newcastle 0-2 Watford

Published on: 26th January 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Watford FC

Watford made 11 changes to their line up for this afternoon’s FA Cup tie against Newcastle at St James’ Park but it was Andre Gray and Isaac Success who fired Javi Gracia’s men through to the fifth round.

After Will Hughes was found in midfield, he played a reverse pass into the run of Andre Gray and although he still had work to do, the former Burnley man fired the Hornets under the keeper from 16 yards.

After Newcastle briefly threatened through Javi Manquillo, Isaac Success sealed the win after the home side lost the ball and Domingos Quina whipped in a cross from a counter attack.

The win sees the Hornets into the fifth round for the second time in ten seasons.

Hornets fans at St James Park unveiled a banner in memory of Matt Allcock who was a season ticket holder at Vicarage Road.
