A new Beaver group in Bushey is to hold an open day next month to encourage more children and parents and volunteers to assist the new group.
Last month, BusheyNews reported that the new Beaver colony had children wanting to take part but not enough adults to support the colony.
The new colony will now host an open day on Saturday, May 11 at The Scout Hut, Moatfield Playing Field between 2 and 4pm.
There are currently nine children on the waiting list and only two parents wanting to help.
South Watford District Commissioner, Chris Wright, said she needs at least two more assistant leaders to make this group possible or a parent rota could be introduced.
Beavers is an opportunity for children aged six to eight to learn new skills, make new friends and play an active role in the community.
The group is looking to start a couple of weeks after the open day.
Volunteering positions are still open. For more information contact Chris Wright at dc@watfordsouthscouts.org.uk or call 07917 340739.
