New photographs put village in the history books

The Chiltern Society PhotoGroup has added a new set of photographs to its Chorleywood album, which dates back to 1960.

It now comprises 64 captioned images depicting most parts of the village and surrounding countryside.

The year-long project to take a new look at the area was undertaken by Moira Parry, a PhotoGroup member.

The Chiltern Society PhotoGroup’s archive of around 8,000 photographs is the most comprehensive online record of the Chiltern’s special character, qualities and amenities.

Besides the recording of the Chilterns for the benefit of future generations, several thousand of UK and overseas visitors, many with ancestral links to this region, access the archive each year.
