Three Rivers Museum, based in Rickmansworth, has been awarded the status ‘Working towards Accreditation.’ The Museum was founded in 1988 and and has a long record of very good work, however the Museum has never been accredited by the Arts Council England as meeting the highest nationally recognised standards.
The team of volunteers believes that the time is now right for them to take that step, and their application process has been accepted. A great deal of work will be needed over the next two or three years by this small, all-volunteer team.
Councillor Stephanie Singer, the Council’s representative for the Museum, said: “This is a great opportunity for our Museum. Accreditation is the formal process for acknowledging the quality of an organisation.”
The museum is now developing in many ways, including a digitisation programme. If you’d like to be involved in volunteering at this exciting time, contact the Chairman on chairman@trmt.org.uk.
