Several changes are being introduced at Leavesden Country Park, as part of new proposals put forward by Three Rivers District Council.
This includes the removal and replacement of the height access barrier at the entrance to the lower car park, improving the sight lines for both pedestrians and drivers.
Conservation work will also be carried out on the iron railings on either side of the entrance, which were installed when the site was home to Leavesden Asylum.
A proposal is also being put forward to alter the park’s opening times to make it easier for guests to know when the automatic gate shuts, following some recent confusion. Under these changes, the park would open from 7am to 9.30pm every day (including bank holidays and the weekend), with the gate shutting to those entering the park an hour before closing.
Elsewhere, the installation of a communication board in the play area is also being considered. This board shows various images and words that children who are non-verbal or who have speech difficulties can use to communicate.
