Rickmansworth Library has started a new chapter in its history as it has now reopened almost two years after a fire ripped through the building.
The library, located in High Street, had been closed since the fire in April 2024 which caused serious damage and left the entire roof needing to be replaced.
The repair works were hit with delays last year but much to the delight of the community it reopened on April 9.
Local groups have already made use of the new facilities including Boys and Girls Nursery from Rickmansworth who paid a special visit during the library’s opening week.
Boys and Girls Nursery said: “Thank you to the wonderful library team who welcomed us. Our children enjoyed exploring the books and listening to stories.”
