CURTAINS UP: Abbots Langley theatre group delighted to back on stage again

The Abbots Langley Players are looking ahead to 2022 to their next production which is sure to raise everyone’s spirits.

After 18 months of enforced cancellations and postponements due to the pandemic, the popular theatre group made a welcome return with their performances of Last Panto and Last Tango in Little Grimley; two plays abridged by their director Brian Hibberd.

The audience were invited to participate in the comedies by imagining props and scenery, whilst the 4 Players on stage were amateur actors with limited talent (no resemblance!) rehearsing their own farcical production in Little Grimley.

This first performance by the Players since March 2020 attracted new faces in the audience as well as regular supporters. There was much laughter and everyone at the three performances left the Henderson Hub with smiles on their faces. Their verdict on this production was summed up by one playgoer as ‘A real tonic  – just what we needed… thank you.’

The Abbots Langley Players plan to raise spirits and more laughter with their next production – No Time for Fig Leaves in March 2022. Watch this space for updates in the new year. Anyone interested in joining the Players on stage, behind the scenes or front of house will be most welcome and can leave their details at the Henderson Hub.
