The fourth edition of Dacorum Borough Council’s Climate Action Network event has been labelled a huge success.
Held at The Forum in Hemel Hempstead on Monday, March 10, the event focused on the theme ‘Nature on the Brink’ and encouraged attendees to “think global and act local”.
Nearly 100 people took part in the evening, which was designed to inspire, educate, and empower local action on climate and nature recovery.
A range of local organisations showcased their climate action initiatives. These included the National Trust, highlighting conservation work at Ashridge Estate; iChoosr, promoting the Solar Together scheme for solar panel installation; and Dacorum Borough Council, sharing updates on the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.
Councillor Caroline Smith-Wright, portfolio holder for climate change and ecological emergency, chaired the event and said: “It was really encouraging to see so many people from different backgrounds across Dacorum coming together, demonstrating through the discussions that climate action is not just an individual responsibility, but a collective one.”
