Concerns over the future of a pub in Bushey can be put to ease after the owners reveal its plans.
The Horse & Chains pub on the high street closed suddenly in May this year and residents were left scratching their heads as to why.
It has been reported to BusheyNews that bar manager Richard was unable to continue running the pub on his own after hitting personal issues. This forced the club to close and the owners unable to find a replacement.
Regulars who had booking made were contacted to explain they would be shutting its doors.
Pub owners, IE Group, the largest pub company in the UK, confirmed the 17th century listed building will be refurbished.
They said: “We can confirm that The Horse & Chains, Bushey is currently shut while it undergoes significant refurbishment works.
“We would like to reassure the local community that we plan to reopen this pub as soon as possible and are currently in discussions with potential new operators.”
