Plans for six new warehouses in Maple Cross have been deferred due to noise concerns.
The plans would see the construction of six warehouse units within two buildings at Maple Cross House, Denham Way and Kier Offices off Maple Lodge Close. It had previously been recommended that planning permission be granted subject to conditions.
Three Rivers District Council’s Planning Committee was set to make a decision on the plans at a meeting on Thursday, June 19.
However, despite the Planning Officer reporting that the applicant had provided further clarification on noise levels around the site, concerns were raised about the potential for noise disturbance to nearby residents. Four of the units are proposed to be operational for 24 hours.
Issues relating to the proposed parking provision were also discussed.
It was therefore unanimously agreed to defer the application to seek further information in respect of noise impacts, noise mitigations, building orientation, and on-site car parking management.
